Injectors or computer?

Postby Tazzie00 on Fri, 25 Sep 2020 12:23 +0000

G'day guys, I've recently fitted a 2014 3ltr turbo diesel motor to my 2007 hilux, I went to the mechanics to get the injectors coded, but turns out the 2007 computer won't code the newer injectors. If this is actually the case, then my question is can I put a 2014 computer in the Hilux or do I need to find injectors to suit?

The 2014 injectors are a piezo and not the older solenoid style. A 2014 ECU might work but it might be simpler getting a set of older injectors.
I might be wrong.

Yes you will need the newer ECU for them to work along with the injector driver.
Will not work with the older ECU

Not sure about the hilux but a lot of cars the ecu varifies other control modules such as body control or imobiliser and locking control so thieves cant just swap the imobiliser module to one they have a transponder for. Cant change one without all the others and wiring harness.
