Shrinking tonneau

Has anyone else had a problem with the factory tonneau cover shrinking?

The tonneau cover on my 2012 SR5 has shrunk over the past 8 years. It clips in fine down the left and right-hand sides and along the headboard, under the sports bar, but on the tailgate, I really must put my weight into it and get it stretched over the aluminium rail, and it just pops of after about an hour tops.

Any ideas on how to fix this, besides buying a new tonneau, as there is nothing wrong with what I have.

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Peter

If the cover is out in the sun for half an hour to get nice a hot, it will stretch easier?

Or have you done that?
