Getting the car over jack stands using a bottle jack

Hey, I want to do a tyre rotation and am just wondering what the best way would be to get the car sitting on jack stands.

If I use my bottle jack at the end of the cross member (for the front), is it OK to throw the jack stands a bit further towards the center of the cross member? or vice versa?

Put it at the front of the cross member on the main shassy rail

Hmm thanks.. only have an online manual and it only seemed to show the cross member points. I ended up jacking (bottlejack) slightly in toward the centre of the cross member and then dropping it onto jackstands at the suggested location on the cross member.
