Streering rack shaft not fitting

Hey guys, ive just put a second hand genuine steering rack in my 2010 hilux and the sharft that connects the steering rack the the steering coloum shaft coming out of the firewall is about half a inch to short? Its got me buggered, i cant find anything in the search either, ill attach a photo later on its not letting me right now, cheers!

Are you sure you've got one from the right model....

I did the same job a few months back - my problem was the shaft was too long. It just needed a massage into place. I doubt its a problem with the rack, perhaps its alignment is out..?

Its out of a 2008 so i would assume they are the same unless there was a minor detail changed that im unaware of?

Yeah im thinking somethings not matching up properly but everything seems to be in its right place, did you fix all the shafts in place then tighten the rack down?
