I've been looking at replacing my aftermarket JVC sat nav head unit, as although it works ok, just looks dated as hell.

Debating on getting a Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB so I can use my phone for the GPS, plus the Android Auto etc. Would then spend the extra £ saved from not having gps included in that unit and get a dedicated GPS alongside.

Have you had any ideas aside from the standard hilux one?

So many options nowdays.
Multimedia systems seem to be the way to go.

You need a 200x100 sized facia

I have the DDX917WS installed in my 2008 TRD.

It is designed for the 200mm Toyota facia.

All the bells and whistles,Android Auto, bluetooth, touchscreen, steering wheel controls, reverse camera. etc etc.

Can't fault it.

There are newer models out now,DDX918WS and DDX919WS.

The "WS" (widescreen) is the 200mm format to fit the Toyota's.

Cheers.

Got the DDX919 WS last year for my 4x2 SR5 as the OEM unit had issues and its very crappy. Had lost it touch sense on the screen down the left side...

Kenwood units are great made to fit perfectly the SR5 dash with great support for firmware upgrades - all good - just make sure you get a decent USB cable as some of the cheap Chinese ones can freak the unit out after a while as they wear....
