Sump

Postby dooka85 on Thu, 29 Aug 2019 5:21 +0000

Hi has anyone built a custom sump? Something with a bigger hole to clean oil pick up and inspect.
Looking for ideas

Sounds like more trouble than what it's worth. There are way to do it. You can buy small inspection cameras cheap as nowadays and if you're unlucky enough to need to clean the screen then you can buy air driven spray guns in which you can use kerosene under pressure to clean it. A few members on here have had success this way. If it's getting clogged up tho you have to fight it at the source... the injector seat seals.

Who rebuilt it? Maybe the block is still full of sludge?? How many k's since the build? Could still have leaking seats?

Sounds like a sump mod would be treating the symptoms and ignoring the cause.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.
