Hi all, probably a bit of a silly question, but is it safe to use an automatic carwash with a snorkel in my car? Just a normal laserwash type carwash, not the type with the spinning brushes etc.

Yes, they're harmless.

It's the brush ones you have to avoid, they have a habit of wrapping around the ram head and ripping it off, like they do with wipers.

Snorkels are designed with a water trap in the head for rain, road spray, etc, which lets most out before it even gets close to the airbox, not sure what stainless snorkels have in place for that though.

Can’t agree with this more.

The sad truth is I give my old man $H!T when he comes to Sydney. Tell him he just comes to hopefully see it rain.

As for the question at hand as stated it’s harmless. Heck if they did a piss poor job they may not have even sealed the holes in the bottom of the air housing.
If they did it will evaporate over time. The little bit it sprays you is nothing really.
