Rain water in tub / tray

Postby Burb122 on Sat, 19 Jan 2019 12:01 +0000

Hi guys. I’ve just ditched the canopy from my SR5 and now running an open/exposed tub. It has the genuine Toyota tub Liner installed. Do I have to worry about the tub filling with water? How can I make it drain rain water??

Good 1 mate, I have a SR5 D4D '12 which has never had a canopy as they are heavy, dont stop thieves and leak water and dust.

I have had a tub liner from day one as I winch in large logs and rocks ( looking for AU )

It 'never' rains in Oz so cant tell you how to handle that :)

But when I wash the rolux I park it in the driveway at an angle.

Water runs out under the tailgate. If the tub liner goes over the edge water shouldn't get under it too bad, but I'd remove it first and clean out any swarf from when it was installed as this rusts and then starts rusting the tub. Maybe spray a bit of lanolin around under it in the tub before putting it back in.

Water runs out at the front of the tub aswell, there’s a vent either side so don’t stress too much.
