Hi,
So I have narrowed my choice of hilux down now and going to an automatic sr5 D4D, but not sure on whether to get a KUN or GGN25R, is there any great difference? I have no idea in any of the comparisons between the 2, just know that the GGN15R is the 4x2 model and GGN25R is the 4x4 model, so whats the KUN? Any help would be greatly appreciated? also anyone have any large forseeable problems with a automatic D4D?

Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

As far as i understood the naming when i bought mine. KUN use the D4D engine while GGN uses the V6 Petrol engine and TGN uses the 2.7 Petrol engine.

So I'm guessing you will be getting a KUN then choose 15 for 4x2 or 25 for 4x4

I got a reverse camera in mine and had it before toyota had them as an accessorie. I find it pretty good to use. I would not bother with the sat nav as I have a $300 Tom Tom. and I would not have any use for the tyre pressure monitor

yes the screen is in the rear view mirror. I got it fitted after I got my truck at a car alarm and stero specialist, cost was around $450 fitted. It has a wide angle colour camera and is infared at night. Very good view around the back of the truck. I also have a camera mounted under the sports bar that looks into the rear tub so I can keep an eye on my dog when she is in the back, I can swith it on or off when I need to.
