Righto, I’m new to this site for only one reason. I’m about to buy a Hilux and don’t want to f$@#&% it up. My criteria is: dual cab, 2x4, auto, my question is what’s a better buy? 2011 sr5 or 2014 sr? Both have 110,000 km and cost approx $19,000. It’s more of a family car. You know transporting the half wits, bike and stuff and a bit of garden /rubbish now and then.

So what’s the better choice?

The petrol one!

Both should have all airbags and ABS as SR5 got these in 2011 and by 2014 the SR should have them too. If the 2011 is a diesel it will have the awful 4spd auto, the 2014 will have the A750F 5spd auto regardless. Not sure about brakes, in 4x4 the 2014 will have bigger brakes, not sure about 4x2.
