Hi guys
New to the forum and a new owner of an auto hilux
Have searched and can’t find what I’m looking for, have taking my ute for a drive in low range and 2nd gear selected then seems as if it kicks up to 3rd when the revs get higher ? I thought when a gear was selected it would hold that particular one ?

What type of transmission is it. Sometimes when the converter locks it feels like another gear.

It’s a 2015 last model of the 3 litres so just the straight through not the sports gear box
