Complete Fluid change + pics

Postby Balloontyres on Sat, 24 Nov 2018 10:26 +0000

Today I decided to change all my fluids, having 80.000 km on the clock now since December 2014 when I bought this car new.
I changed oil a few times already ofcourse and also filters.. I wonder what else I could have let them check.

Those shocks are very nice. Did they grease the prop shafts?
I might be wrong.

damn it so I drove about 350km today and car steering heavy !

And I was already in doubt all the time because he put Transmission fluid in the steeringreservoir. please any info welcome!

I also had the idea that there was a lousy standard nothing was checked only fluids replaced but i asked for total check up and paid for that also!

also they didn't messure how much oil in the drive axles went.. just pumped them full is that the Toyota standard?

this painfull moment:

Yes the steering pump takes ATF and the filler on the diffs is the fill level. Consider putting an inline filter in the tranny cooling circuit if the 5 speed only has a strainer screen internally and changing it every 20k,they do catch the tiny metal wear fragments that can only do more damage if left in like toyota recomend.

Next time I’d do an ATF flush and run a superior ATF like Valvoline Maxlife. It is far cheaper and is proper synthetic not a semi like I believe WS is.
