alternate silver color?

hail all,
is there more than one silver paint option available for the 2012 - 2015 hilux?
Like mine, i typically see many hilux with the 1C0 silver steel color on the road, but i've seen another recently that is a much more "pure/sharper" silver...kind of like the silver you see on the toyota corolla (1F7 for comparion) or Isuzu Dmax. So i'm not sure if there were other silver factory options or maybe it was a custom repaint/job by the owner, who knows?!?! But, it sure did look good.

reason i've been observing the different colors is because i may repaint mine next year, either white or silver, so keeping my eyes and options open.

Yep, 2012 and 2013 silver were called I think sterling silver, and then 2014/2015 is called silver sky, same as the new n80 models.

just did a search on net with your information...the sterling silver looks like my 1C0 from the pictures i saw.

however, the Silver Sky look exactly like the 2014/early 2015 hilux i saw on the road,,,it was quite a nice color in the sunshine...thank you... ...it gives me some more options to work with

is your paint code 1C0 ?
that looks like the same color on my 2014, which in the brochure is called silver steel

The colour code of mine is 1CO.

It was listed in the purchase documents from the dealer as Sterling Silver (I bought it new).


This colour has kind of a goldish tinge to it, that looks different depending on what light it is in (apparently real sterling silver, not the colour, has a small percentage of copper added to it to make the silver more usable and that is where they get the colour name from)

The other silver (not sure what they called it back then, but if you say silver steel then I believe it) is more of a grey kind of silver.
