Genuine Canopy Questions

Postby jas6395 on Sun, 08 Jul 2018 9:35 +0000

Hi, I’m looking at buying a genuine Toyota canopy for a 2010 dual cab from gumtree that has a broken rear window.
Does anyone know where the id plate / sticker is located that you use to order parts? The seller can’t see it anywhere.
Also does anyone know who made these for Toyota? They look similar to the ARB ones.

Genuine Canopy Questions

Postby VMANN on Sun, 08 Jul 2018 9:39 +0000

Hi Jas,

Is there a reason why you want that specific one?
only asking because I recently picked up a CarryBoy canopy from Facebook marketplace for $500 and it’s in pretty good condition considering new it’s $3500.
I’m wrapping it for $250.

I looked at buying one missing a rear window but the window itself was more expensive than finding one with the wrong colour that I could get wrapped.

Hey Vmann, I think the main reason is it’s $150. I told the guy that whether I buy it will depend on how much the glass is, paint is no problem as I work in a panel shop. I like how they look too. Cheers.

Ask Toyota for a replacement window price if it’s a genuine one.

For anyone that’s wondering, around $400 for the rear glass without any locks or struts.

Yeap I agree and 90% of the 05-15 genuine canopies are ARB. So chances without a picture are your in luck.
But yes rear glass will be more then the canopy. struts $20 each locks $20 each rear glass $350-400 fitting 30min to an Hour
Plus you will also need new seals to refit to the tub. Possibly front mount rail if it was left on the old vehicle etc. not as easy as a lot of people think.

Just picked it up today, the previous owner had every single part that came with it, keys, locks, struts, mounts, bolts - everything. Winning!
