Balance shaft delete

Hi everyone just wondering if I can get some feedback on deleting my balance shafts in a 2006 1kd I'm interested in the pro's & cons. Thanks

Interesting technical challenge, but of absolutely no value whatsoever in a 1KD, unless you want to put the engine in a racing car, which would be equally without value. :(

The only reason I ask is I'm in the middle of a rebuild & im having trouble sourcing new drive gears for them. I've heard of people running these engines without them due to the fact it has only the one oil inlet which then has to travel forward in the shaft while it spins causing malfunctions like mine it's got 150000kms and spat the centre bearing due to a flat spot.

Any further info on this. Mine has had the same fault. Would definitely be easier to not put them back in.

Ive done some research about this.

Very Difficult to source info however.

Pretty much what i've gathered is that you need to block the oil gallery that supplies to the balance shafts, Remove the bearings and shaft. And block the hole where the shaft also goes into.

This only works on a manual, not Auto

Also makes minimal difference to vibration, however ive seen that it does improve oil pressure
