Had to fit a new alternator today fitted a 130amp
The old one was cutting in and out was starting to drive me crazy will have it reconditioned and keep as spare

Did you upgrade the wiring and fuse too? From memory Toyzx / Luke did his last year if you’re looking for some details.

No the auto sparky that reconditioned the old one said all good just change the alternator
been using them for 40 od years have not give my a bum steer yet.

Against all of my wisdom and previous advice, my 1kd is now good for 162kw and 490mn.

I'm selling it soon so I thought I'd see what its like - first impressions are its not terribly quicker on 33in tyres with stock gearing, but its much happier to spin the inside wheel around corners. It will definately be quicker when I put the 30in tyres back on it.
I might be wrong.

Yes... a tune :roll:

I still don't think it would be something I'd rush out and do for the long term. Things like diff locks, a long range tank and good tyres remain a higher priority. The stock 120kw was enough for me - even with the 33s on.
I might be wrong.

Yes you can never have enough power but diff locks and or tanks don't do it for me ;)
