Finally got my steering wheel controls working. Over about 6 months I've done an updated steering wheel, clock spring and head unit, minor harness splicing and finally, 3rd time lucky got it going. Seems the trick was to use the cable supplied with the head unit and not a steering wheel remote control adapter harness.
Oh and 2x dual usb audio/charge panels doing exactly that in the dash.
Stoked

What year is your lux and what wheel did you use?
Where did you get the clock spring- OEM or after market? Do you have an OEM part number?

Installed some cheap reflective sun shades to the canopy windows after seeing a couple of mates doing it .. will see how she goes in summer for a bit of cooling, and privacy.

Also, installed some stretchy straps to hook the fridge bin lids to when opening ... short arm problems! Ordinarily if i open the fridge door completely (instead of just holding it open to grab a drink), i have to really stretch to close it (it sits very wide open).

Wired up an LED controller with dimmer and wireless switch for my LED strips (just Velcro mounted on the glass for easy access in addition to the main switch)

Drove to work and back.
Need to buy some 4mm twin core (or thereabouts) to wire in some worklights, got some 6B&S to wire in an Anderson plug and ciggie socket to the tray.

Nice... any pics?

Mine rub in most places at maximum upward suspension travel. But that is getting less as the tyres slowly modify the bodywork and bullbar
I might be wrong.

Well it started out identifying as a landrover - then sorted itselfout.

Diff oil seal leaked about 20-30mls overnight - drove to work and checked recently - no oil leak.

Swapped out my illuminators (9inch) for new kings domi8tors. Pretty happy with them, a fairly decent increase in performance. More of a spot beam. Better distance.
I love my ute but not as much as my dashound does!!
I just put a 3 inch exhaust on the ute, now the D4D sounds like a V4!!!

Couldn't say at the moment as there is no bloody moisture in the air around here that's for damm sure!! :( I would think so as the light to my untrained eye is the same colour. I have olny used them once at this point and that was a short run so maby l should update about them in a more applicable thread.

Picked up tow bar/rear bumper. I got money off as I removed it from the seller's SR5. Also got a canopy but as it is silver I won't be fitting it until it gets painted.

Picked up a 2nd hand long range tank from the wreckers, thought I’d scored a bargain until it was cleaned up. Rusted through around the top. Image

So then installed a couple of under tray tool boxes, glad to get the stuff out from behind the seats. Image

Relocated the diesel fuel cooler and swapped out to genuine wiper blades.
Wiper blades were only $7.50 a side - cheaper than most automotive shops!!!
