Finally fixed my horn, replaced the clock spring and while I was at it thought why not upgrade the horns to a set of Hella Sharptones, it sure does work better than just a finger  all up done for less than $200

Was it easy changing the clock spring?
I also have to change my one. Horn only work when steering wheel is turned left or right.

Also what did the clock spring cost?

Very easy to change clock spring you will need torx bit and a socket to remove steering wheel forget what sizes... probably a thread on here somwhere on the procedure just make sure you disconnect battery and very careful when removing the airbag

I bought mine off ebay genuine toyota for about $120 i think... check your vin and part number as there are many variations http://www.toyodiy.com should help

2008 TRD.

Installed a Kenwood DDX917WS ,Cmos 130 reverse camera and demister antenna.

Tinted windows.

Changed color of console, bottom of dash, seat trims and kick panels (black).

Swapped interior, parkers and number plate globes to LED (white).

New 130+ headlight globes.

Removed supercharger for service and rid the idle rattle--- (rotors were touching each other).
*new rear case needle bearings.
Unfortunately the bearings didn't fix the issue. Will have to rebuild the rotor pack.. $$$$ (another day)

Replaced spark plugs. (VKH20)

Grease drive line.

Removed Ironman 3" lift and replaced with TRD/Bilstein stock suspension. (couple months ago.)

I think that's everything.. :D

Cheers.

What did you do to your Hilux today?

Postby CHUTCH on Sat, 16 Dec 2017 8:03 +0000

I do a far bit of deer hunting up in the high country and was after some draws to suit my needs, i wanted my fridge & a box thats used for gear to fit on the slide so i had easy access to everything!

I also wanted somewhere to lock my firearms up and store some food & clothes. I looked & looked, rang a heap of places in search of the right one!

I think i managed to find it after contacting the guys at full boar fourby, alot of questions and back & forth, they did a fantastic job, very neat & professional to deal with.
i finally got them installed and very happy with them, i just need to do a shake down run now!

Everything fit, it was tight when its closed but we got there.

Installed two new Headlight Assemblies and LED Globes. The LED Globes were plug and play, Heatsink with no fan.

I cant believe how white bright and clear they are. In the photo when on High Beam with spotties, the spotties look yellow.

Im pretty happy with them mate, there removable as well, so I usually leave them off until i need them. Only issue for me is the distance between the rails on the driver side, wish they were a bit further apart.

Wired up the 2WD Low switch to my 2015 SR today. Very easy to do, only took about an hour. Another great mod that I found here on the forum.

Replaced my Ultimates with DMS shocks, new rotors and pads (prado mod) and did the four front ball joints.

My ultimates have been absolutely awesome. Im only replacing them as a precaution as I've got 2 months of outback touring coming up travelling through WA, NT, SA and NSW.

I thought Ultimates stuff was rebuildable? any reason you chose new over rebuilding the old ones? Just curious.

Also, are you selling the Ultimates? my oem shocks have had it

Had to get a new battery for the Hilux today, wouldn't start yesterday and was dead again this morning after being charged.

Anyone know what brand the original battery was? just wondering if mine has been replaced before. It was a GS brand battery. Looked old as the hills anyway.

A mate of mine recently took off his tub and canopy and replaced it with a custom canopy. It's on YouTube as well....worth a look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0E-bcOak4Q
