Read this one and thought I would post my last trip up as a comparison.
2007 D4D Dual Cab, New Baileys Injectors, Catch Can, BFG 31, 10.5R 15's, Bullbar. The rest is Stock standard.
Trip 310km towing a trailer with approx 500kg concrete blocks, 316km return trip empty.
Total 626km, 59.5 lts to refill. Sat on 100km/per hr with cruise.
Very happy with that.

A 1027.2klm run between fills including some gravel and 4wdriving, but mostly higher speeds along the Kakadu and Arnhem Highways 110klm/h +.....so pleasantly surprised for the figures of 11.8L/100klm. This is pretty much the best I will ever get and with diesel at a historic low of $1.17 in Darwin one is almost temped to stop ....er..... 'finding' fuel from work......lol !

You picked up your lux in August last year?
This will have a significant impact on your fuel economy:

Significant temp difference between seasons

Short answer - Yes, so can humidity. Without knowing exactly where or how you drive, short city trips or long highway hauls there are many environmental factors that all contribute. Melbourne AP has about on average a 16 degree difference of maximum temp from winter up to now. Add radiant heat from off the bitumen and it could easily exceed 20 degrees at airbox inlet.
Add to that your roof rack, 31.6" AT tyres and any other accessories - it all adds up... assuming the vehicle has otherwise been well maintained and fuel quality is consistent.
Some may argue cold temps reduce fuel economy - possibly true for sub zero environments.
Wait and see what happens in a few months

Dirty air filter and big rubber both will be your main factors there. Blow out you air filter every 5000km and after each off road track dust ingress. Check out the cleaning MAP filter and MAF sensor thread too. Keep on top of that maintenance - efficiency will follow

Any one a clue if luxies tend to drink a bit to much their first few K km's?

I'm still running ~1L on 9,4 KM's with a brand new non modded 2.5 intercooled manual.
No heavy foot, no cruise control, mainly paved highway (Europe ~0 to ~10 Celcius atm.)

I was hoping to make 1:11 or 1:12 on average.

Still <2000 km's on the clock.

Start here for D4D engine:
http://www.newhilux.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=20711
Interesting info through out the entire thread
Some users have noticed improved economy after cleaning - but most have done at least 20-100K before cleaning MAF or MAP

i know its prob a stupid question but would not having the tonneau cover on increase the fuel consumption with the addded wind drag ?? used to have it on all the time when i first had the car never put it on at all anymore

well went out for a 4wd today and the distance from empty jumped from 280 to 390 ?? wierd maybe something in the fuel tank was playing up and the angles or the movement sorted it out ?? will have to keep an eye on it and see where this tank finishes

I've been getting around 12.5l per 100 towing an 8x5 trailer with garden waste. I'm a Greens keeper so it's always on

2015 dual cab chassis diesel manual. Stock tyres, 225/70r17. No barwork or extra weight aside from steel tray and bushskinz bashplates. Pulling in 11.2 for all town driving, no highway K's recorded during this period.
