Hi guys, just wondering has anyone fitted headers and a 3 inch exhaust system to a 2003 hilux 3.0lt diesel non turbo and what difference did it really make to the vehicles performance.

Look down the turbo road mate.
Headers are good if you have a cracked exhaust manifold but as a preformance gain not worth the cash.

I'm running headers and 2.75" on a 2.8
As far sound goes it makes it
Does it do anything nope
As stated only do it if yours if cracked or has a hole
3" will just be a waste of money as most shops can't bend it so you pay per bend and too weld it
On the other hand if it's the right prices then yes 3" is fine
My 2.75" I ended up adding a 16" hotdog to the rear to shut it up as it was just anoying (had a straight through muffler)

If it power your after look down other roots,
Big wheels= change the diff ratio
No power= turbo or dual fuel

You would have the same engine as me, the 5L-E being a 2003 non-turbo model. I'd recommend to chip and turbo your model which is the path I've taken. Then you can look at a 2.5" exhaust which should offer you a noticeable performance increase with the turbo and chip.
