Need to stop fouling

Postby harrisbm on Fri, 25 Aug 2006 5:48 +0000

I am looking for a simple way to stop the fouling on the internal wheel arch. On full lock the muddies provide a nice bumpy ride. I have thought about spacers behind the wheel nuts. Has anyone done that with a BFG mud tire 255/85R16. The tires don't add much to the look of the lux but the extra lift is amazing. If you have a ARB bar smash the lip of the mad shield flat or it will get cought and bends. The tires are noisy on the road but i wouldn't do without them. The tires are running on the SR rims i got them for around $20 from good year.

I know a lot of people in the US put spacers in there tacomas but the issue is if you take it out to far you can start hitting the outside of the wheel arch.

I think a lot of people don't like spacers and recommend that you get a rim with the correct backspacing/offset.

Will chew the wheel bearings and place big stress on the CV's.
