Just watch the stainless does not react with the steel tub and rust it out

This is really neat, was there enough space behind? or did you have to cut through the center storage box?

http://nl.aliexpress.com/item/12V-Bar-R ... 9.7.26RHXh

cheap! I'll order a set to test

They are nice, and you can sandpaper them, sticker a new logo on it, paint the rest, remove the sticker and have a custom button !!!

I'll order a few as backup!

another edit,

how mine worked.....

1st half of the switch (R-Y and B) is not switched and only used to permanently power 1 LED.
2nd half of the switch (R-Y and G-Y) is switched, circuit closed if the switch is in IN position.

I wanted stuff to work different so I resoldered the internals in order to work as switch for 2WD LOW mode as in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1290&start=240

Rear demister and rear wiper/washer for canopy rear window. Can post photos and details if anyone is interested.

Maybe we need a new thread "Slightly more expensive budget mods" ?

I know its been a while but if you still have pics, and what you used that would be great.

Thanks

Can you tell me about the alternator upgrades. My amp pulls a bit to much load at full noise.

Headed out to Kalumburu last week - wasnt looking forward to all the dust coming in the back over all the gear

1M of 2" downpipe + 90 degree elbow + a squirt of spray paint laying around
No more dust ingress 8-)

Forget pricey dust defence kits - tried them, they dont work.
Tubs/canopy need positive air pressure ventilation to counter the rearward negative pressure drawing in dust

Best $11.50 I've spent

Q? There is a low pressure point at the back of the cab isn't there? would you not need to bring the inlet point forward a few inches?

Possibly low pressure area just at the very back face of the cab/glass where it doesnt get any positive air flow.
The snorkel/air vent gets direct air flow from air passing over the roof.
Will post some pics in my build thread later

Nice idea. planning a trip to the top end next year... I will definitely be doing this.

And yeah I would say it's high enough to be out of the low pressure pocket.

Have been thinking of doing something similar through the ally bar but been a little concerned with rain entering.

The fridge in the back will be a lot happier with the airflow too.

Good idea! Could possibly fab something up so you can turn snorkel backwards just for when raining - dust wont be a problem if tracks are wet

Hello all,

I hope everyone is safe during this time,

But for me it’s a great time to start doing some mods on the new hilux,

Has anyone got/done any under $50 mods on their N80 hilux? I have a 2019 double cab Sr5 with the aeroklas canopy and am keen to start fitting it out

Cheers,

Does removing the towbar before going offroad count?

Who is this 'crew'?

Buy some Black carbon fibre vinyl wrap from super cheap for $49.99 for a 1.5 x 1.8m roll
Wrap the door sill/foot entry that gets scuffed and chipped over the years years.
Pop off the step moulding while installing wrap
The cf wrap is surprisingly tuff
Cover up/black out anything else you want
