No battery will hold a steady 14volts...
Sounds like it could be an immobiliser issue, or a lack of fuel getting to the rail

Thank you mitch_893 but I never said the battery will be able to hold 14 volts while cranking.
The V6 Hilux will require a healthy battery and if its reading under 14 volts before you turn the key certain Ancillaries will not function and will not start - a lot of modern vehicles are now like this.
