Hi all,
I have a sr 2005 1kd diesel hilux. I am having a some problems with my clutch. The clutch pedal engages by its self goes all the way to the floor. I have to pull it back up with my foot. The gear are not slipping so I think the actual clutch is good. Could it just be air in the system should I bleed the slave cylinder or just replace it?

You've got air in your system , start with your slave.
Check for leaks if you carnt see any physically pull the boot back and have a look!!!

They don't have to leak to suck air……
Probably time to replace anyway?

The early hilux Runs a displacement internal seal clutch master cylinder. It is black in color made out of plastic . If the inside seal is buggered the clutch fluid will not be getting displaced only moved around the the plunger rod. In this case you will have no visual leaks and will pump fluid throughout the slave when bleeding the system up.
But as soon as you try pressurize the system it will fail.

You can kit them it is a funny system in operation and the seals and plunger are unique!
Toyota have now returned to the more common master cylinder Aloy silver type on the current models.

Hi guys, 2015 Lux with 230k original clutch, everything works just fine, except the fact that it s very stiff to press. i have bleed the slave cylinder this morning, and for 20min worked very nice, after that it began to be hard again. no leeks whatsoever.

Is it posssible to be just the slave cyl ? or I am in denial and it s the whole clutch ?

Thanks
