Just did the timing belt on my 2013 hilux at 150K kms. Genuine belt, tensioner and pulley cost $350 and just over an hour for me to put it in, and that was working very slowly with a bit of cleaning and manual tools. It's a very easy job to do, and you don't need to remove the radiator or fan for access, although moving the steering fluid reservoir helps, it's just 3 bolts.
The old tensioner, belt and pulley were as good as new showing no signs of wear that I could see, had I not already bought the parts, I would have put the cover back on, and then just checked it every service or so; it's only 6 x 10mm bolts to check its condition.
Didnt change the waterpump, there was no sign of leakage, and that's a big job, so left until it needs doing.
