There is an extension for the door stop on GU's to allow the small L/H rear door open further, so may be a possible. Might play & see if it's possible  .

You can find "Suicide" door hinges on Ebay for the Hilux. I believe the low rider guys use them to have the doors swing open to 90 degrees to the vehicle. Might be worth investigating?

Let me know how you get on.

i was thinking about this the other day. what you could do is have the main fridge slide, slide forwards towards the front seat and then have anouther slide on top that slides the draw out the door. it will take up a bit more space but i think it could work

you still wont fit it with suicide door i dont think
you may want to look at lambo hinges, or gull wing hinges,
both are very popular in the import car seen
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

So i found those hinges on ebay.com, there american ebay version, just havent found ones for the hilux yet. I have also been told if you move the little black slider on your back doors that limits how much you can open it, it will open further, will give it ago when i get back from working up north. and take some pics.

Can really bother paying $1200 for lambo hinges, i saw a 06/07 hilux in dual cab, and he slided his fridge out of his dualcab, so i know its possible, just hard trying to find the hinges.

in diagram below, if you disconnect/unbolt the rear door check assy the door will be able to open further. Just keep an eye on how far as you may or may not damage the door if it opens to far.

When the door check is unbolted it does allow the door to swing further out, but the leading edge of the door skin contacts the grommet for the wiring in the door. At this point you are gaining some more space but it is still a fair way off being 90 deg. If you try to go any further you risk hitting the face of the rear door against the rear edge of the front door (toward the bottom where the curve is). I have my rear seat removed & a ply base bolted to the floor on the passenger side. My 50 litre Waeco straps to it & I can open the lid with no problems.

I have a shelf that sits a tad high, so thats why i was aiming to slide it out my door, cant open it from inside. the lid will hit the roof. Plenty of storage underneath it though.
