There is nothing on the standard engine to measure the EGT.

I tried looking but could not find it.

And also where do you go to put the code in.

Boxhead, I believe this is the one for Hilux.

TXD: 07E121D9
RXF: 032180000000
RXD: 1810
MTH: 0003004DFE70
NAM: TF6

And if you are using a scan gauge this is how you enter it,

• Start from the HOME screen, press MORE>MORE>MORE>XGAUGE
• Then in the top right, select the number of the X-Gauge memory you want to
use (0 to 24)
• Next select <EDIT , this will take you to the TXD screen
• Use the + and - buttons to enter each character at the underscore position, the
º button at the top right will move to the next character space.
• Enter 07E121D9 into the TXD screen and press OK>
• Enter 032180000000 in the RXF screen and press OK>
• Enter 1810 in the RXD screen and press OK>
• Enter 0003004DFE70 in the MTH screen and press OK>

It should work but no guarantees.

I just tried this on mine,(ScanGauge2) all I get is "177". And that's with a cold car.
My car is a 08 D4D Auto, is it just too old, or is there a different code for this model.

Could try these

TXD: 686AF101B4
RXF: 044105B4
RXD: 2010
MTH: 000703E8FFD8
NAM: TFT

or

TXD: 686AF101B4
RXF: 044105B40000
RXD: 2808
MTH: 00090005FFD8
NAME: ATF

Or

Try some of the Xgauge codes listed here, you may find one that works for you

I've got a 2008 Diesel 4 Speed Auto - does anyone know of anything that will display Transmission Temp for that model? (website says XGauge not supported for older than 2009)

I have been using the scangauge for about 5 years now and found it to be extremely useful and gives a huge number of engine readouts, four of which can be shown on the screen at one time, and others scrolled onto the screen as you want them. it also has function which checks for fault codes and cancels codes if required, this saves having to disconnect the battery to cancel a code. also saves a trip to the dealer because you can check for, and cancel codes yourself and save a heap of money.
cheers.

Can anyone with an 2013 MY14 confirm that a scangauge II works on thier vehicle. The scangauge australia site says that it's not compatable with d4d after 2006.
Would really like to get one or somethingsimilar to be able to clear codes if I am in a remote area.

I've got mine running perfectly in a 2012 new shape d4d. You shouldn't have a problem with it. I highly recommend it. awesome bit of kit.

I just had a look at the scanguage website and it says

"Hilux D4D (all models September 2006 and OLDER are not compatible)"

You will be right.

Scangauge II all the way - 2010 d4d. Aside from the distance to empty meter which the SR model doesnt have - the fuel usage and adjustments are very easy to dial in and keep accurate. Clearing codes that otherwise would have to gone back to the dealer for, is very very handy indeed!

Have a play with it and read the instructions there pretty good actually. My fuel usage compensation was about 45% and you must correct the speedo reading on the scangauge to be accurate to your actual speed for it be reliable.

If your running bigger tyres without a corrected speedo then its a must...

The monster gauge looks like a good bit of kit, but I don't think it has any provisions for calculating fuel consumption and total km left like the scan gauge does, does it?

Hi all,

Looking to purchase a ScanGauge for my 'Lux but I'm unsure of the compatibility. The vehicle's date of compliance is 09/2006; date of manufacture is 08/2006. Going by the vehicle compatibility chart, I should be in the clear, correct?

Apologies for the second post - I've yet to get any clarity on this and have contacted Ample Outdoors twice.

Their compatibility chart says:
  • HiLux D4D - (MY 2007) (Aug 2006 – on) - COMPATIBLE.
  • HiLux D4D - models made before October 2006 - NOT COMPATIBLE.
I'm not sure whether this means that my 'Lux is incompatible? It's an 08/2006 build, 09/2006 compliance. Euro4.
