Ebay diesel injectors for D4D

There are some D4D injectors on Ebay for $375 each. The DLC ones, Toyota part number 23670-39316.
I've spoken to the seller (sun city spares in Sydney) and he assures me these injectors are genuine Denso, in the Denso packaging, they have the 32 digit code on them.

I know the old "too good to be true" saying, but these injectors are MUCH cheaper than anything else out there.
Authourised Denso dealers are quoting around the $660 to $630 mark, and there is another Ebay seller with $530.

What do you guys think? Has anyone heard of fake diesel injectors. The tech guy at Denso Australia hinted at the possibility of fakes without actually saying it, although he may just be trying to protect sales of their dealers.
I've googled for fake and counterfeit Denso and toyota injectors and nothing much comes up except some stuff about fake Denso spark plugs.

I saw the exact same injectors on ebay about 3 months ago, from the same seller. I phoned toyota and they told me there price, and this guy was heaps cheaper. Anyway, I gave him my VIN number and he sent me the correct 4 injectors matched to my truck which my mechanic installed for me. Anyway, all is great, Fixed my issue and no problems whatsoever. These injectors have Denso and the part number printed on them. You wont be disappointed.

I got mine threw Sun City Spares, there genuine denso injectors, Even took them to toyota and two other mechanics to be sure and they are. Mine have been in for 7 months now and no issues whatsoever. I highly recomend them.

Yep, I had the dreaded death rattle and smoke on start up. My mechanic checked it out and said 2 needed replacing. So with the price they were advertised at, 4 was worth it and peace of mind for a while.

Update....I'm not buying from this guy now.
After a string of emails and phone calls this morning, I have no confidence that I will receive the correct updated injectors I want.
For anyone interested....Toyota part number 23670-39316 = Denso part number 0950007780.
This injector is the improved DLC version of the original injector fitted to late 06 build D4D engines, up to somewhere around 09 build.

ok,I got back a quote from suncity spares last night $1835 fitted,he hasnt confirmed they are the DLC updated injectors though,so I will confirm that before I go ahead.

If you let them install, do yourself a favour and record the 32 digit number on each injector, and take note of which cylinder they were installed in. Take the vehicle to a Toyota dealer or authorised Denso dealer afterwards and have them program the codes into the ECU.

Sun City tried to convince me that this step is a load of BS, which rang warning bells straight away. They are Toyota wreckers.
Yes the engine will run, maybe even sound good, but it still needs to be done.
According to a Denso dealer in Sydney I spoke to, the ECU will eventually learn to adapt to the injectors, but it can take thousands of KMS and he didn't recommend it.

Yes. Having them coded is a must. I didnt want any hassles with mine and made sure he coded them... I even went to his workshop and watched it happen. - Helps when you know your mechanic well.

Just got a price back from my stealer and genuine toyota injectors are $638.14 each inc GST. I won't be buying some aftermarket alcheapo one if the difference is only a couple of greenie's.

I just got them installed by a different workshop that I trust. I wouldn't be letting a wrecking yard touch my ute.

Ended up getting mine from West End Diesel in Sydney for $550 each including GST.
Anyone else who wants to get injectors from them for $550, ask to speak to Tim (nobody else will know what you're talking about) and mention NewHilux forum.
They are authorised Denso agents and can install and code the injectors. I fitted mine myself, even managed to do it without removing or replacing the injector pipes. Just have to get them coded now.

P.S. if fitting injectors yourself make sure you turn the engine over at least twice with a 22mm ringy on the front of the crank shaft before starting.
Some oil will get into the cylinders while the injectors are out and cause a hydraulic lock up which may bend a conrod.

Nobody told me, my engine locked up this morning when I went to start it after fitting the injectors. Turned it over by hand and could feel and hear oil in the cylinders getting squeezed out. I am a diesel mechanic and was pissed off with myself for making such a stupid mistake.
Didn't bend a rod but it's certainly possible.

sounds mighty unlucky... i wouldnt have thought there would be enough oil floating around the head to hydraulic the slugs. fuel maybe but even so it does take a fair bit to hydraulic any engine. glad you have everything sorted mate!

Have steep driveway, sloping down at back of car, maybe that makes a diff? Dunno but my blood ran cold when I hit the key and got lock-up. LOTTSA white smoke after start-up too.
