Thought I would share my cheap win.
My hilux only had the valet key (2005).
Got a copy of the valet key (aftermarket key and programming $150)
Got aftermarket remote key ($36)
- https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Hilux- ... 1438.l2649
Had remote key cut ($6)
Programmed remote myself using the instructions in this thread, used a dremmel to grind out a bit of the key head as the aftermarket chip was bigger

Put cloned valet key chip in the new remote key fob and win!
Remote key working for around 200 bucks (250 cheaper than at the locksmith).

rad2085 wrote:The other tool you can try is the one listed below. For $30ish you can program keys into the security module. This is how the pricks are stealing all the hilux's. They drill the barrel, place any old hilux key in the key hole and program. Presto in under 30 seconds they have your car started. I found this out by experience when they attempted to steal my hilux. For those of you who have the 2010 SR5 with the blank on the passengers side handle instead of the door lock key hole, all they do is drill a 10mm hole (its only plastic) flat blade screwdriver and turn. A little to easy, I have put a stainless steal 10mm panel in behind mine now. Good luck drilling that out quietly.

The other thing I have done is install my own 4 point immobilizer so now they can program keys as much as they like the vehicle will not start. To reduce the price of the keys all I use now is the immobiliser remote to lock and unlock as well as disarming the immobiliser, then I just use the Toyota keys without the remotes.

Just though I would share.

Sorry for resurrecting an old post, I lost both master keys and drive around with a valet key. I also saw this cheap OBD Smart Key Maker that is suposedily possible to make a master key even if "All keys lost". I have a good feeling that this will work, the main question is on what models?

I have 2008 made in Thailand registered in EU Hilux with a key that has a dot on it (no G mark). My dealear is saying only new ECU unit is a possible solution with 1000 EUR price tag for one master key with remote. I rang a couple of local locksmiths and the only option would be aftermarket clone of valet key with remote (around 130 EUR). There was one positive response from a locksmith 1,000 miles away from me that it is possible to reset the immobiliser with ADVI or ZedFull device :?:

Will this more cheaper and simple solution work for me:
- Order an original master remote key pre-cut with the number tag that I also have (60 EUR)
- Order OBD Toyota smart keymaker (10 EUR)

The only concern I have is that this Chinese OBD device will brick my car  has anyone tested it out? Any candidates?

Success :D I programed 2 master keys and old Valet key, no need to buy new IMO computer for $$$.

Now the next problem is remote locking and unlocking, I can get the car into "learn" mode but my key is not detected, I ordered two 433 MHz keys from two different vendors. Is there any chance that my Hilux uses 315 MHz? I was told that in Europe there should be 433 MHz.

My mother has Yaris (2008), that supposedly uses the same system, will play a little with the different keys and see what I get.

Nothing works

The first key I bought was this one. Remote part didn't work so I thought, yeah cheap china stuff, probably broken out of the factory, so I bought this one with a little more detailed description (Toyota part number and FCC ID :B41TA)

Didn't work either.

Any suggestions, what to do next?
- TOKAI RIKA B41TA?
- TOKAI RIKA B42TA?
- B41TH module?
- 314 MHz or 433 MHz?
- let the dealer program it?

These gadgets are cheap, but buying all combinations that in the end won't even work won't be.

Sorry to drag up a old thread.

I have got a MY09 Dec 08 hilux with a B41TH electronics with a DOT key 4D 1D67 chip I believe. Only ever had 1 key, previous owner obviously lost the other.
Ordered a new key off ebay with B41TH electronics & 4D ID67 chip (not sure how to actually check this)

I have successfully programmed the central locking part easy as.
Try to program the transponder chip for the engine immobiliser ECU, get the solid red light to indicate its in program mode, insert the new key, thinks for a second then starts a 2 blink stop 1 blink.
Does anyone know what this means???

Any help would be great, I have combed through this thread for days trying to find a similar issue.

Needed to get a second key.
2010 Hilux Dual-Cab
Got aftermarket remote key ($49.95) - Amalgamated Locksmiths
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Remote-car- ... 0008.m2219
Had remote key cut ($20.00) and programmed ($50.00) by - Minit Man at the local mall.
All up replacement (that works perfectly) = $119.95.
Toyota quoted me $250 plus the cost of cutting.
I reckon I walked away with an absolute bargain.

3 years (and a couple of dunks in the ocean) on and my eBay key is intermittent. Thought I’d splash out on a better quality key from mall ‘car key specialist’.
Transponder bit is done and the key starts the car fine, but neither of us can get the car into programming mode to learn lock and unlock.
Reconnected the key sensor/ door beeper wire, hold the key slightly counter clockwise to make sure the thing actually beeps when the key goes in.... we gave up.
