Spitfia, I read your post with interest as I have been wanting some better globes. But when I went to the Narva website it states at the bottom of the description that those globes are ‘**Not ADR Approved. Off-road use only’ (Reference: https://www.narva.com.au/blogs/press-re ... led-globes).

Are you able to use them on the road? I assume this is an old article and they have been cleared for use now.

Actually not ADR approved but i dont think cops are too fussed with it in the west i see plenty of people with led headlights on the road. Besides if i do get pulled for em i have my old globes in my glove box i can fit in 2 mins flat

Not surprised they are not ADR approved, they are dazzling and difficult for oncoming traffic even on low beam. I have too much respect for fellow road users.

+1
Do whatever you want with high beam bulbs but putting LED and HID bulbs in reflectors that were not designed for them is putting you and oncoming road users at risk if their ability to see is affected.

Agreed on the HIDs and LEDs in the stock headlights, so frustrating driving past someone who’s done it.

Hey crit. Was it much work to restore the headlights?
We have a few older work trucks that are pretty bad, thinking it might be a good Monday morning job for the apprentices

Jagged some Bridgestone Dueller 697's for $200 a corner fitted and got the 120k service done. Its like a new car. The old Coopers, which had been on 2 Prados and a trailer, well 2 of them on a trailer anyway were like driving a steamroller. All I have to do now is find a cheapish lift kit for it and that'll do it for a while.....maybe.

New 130amp alternator went in today. My old one, a rebuilt unit from bansheebuzz packed it in yesterday after a couple of years and maybe 50k kms. Didn't really have a choice but to buy this one as it was what repco had on the shelf. Just have to finish upgrading the main alt fuse and wiring now.ImageImageImage

Replaced the front brake pads with QFM. Flushed the front brake fluid. Tried to replaced the rear brake shoes but discovered I do need the C washer that the Toyota parts guys adamantly told me I didn't need... So I had to put it back together with the old shoes still in there.

1. Yes.

2. No. Not on the bendix shoes I bought. Maybe it comes with genuine ones?

I've changed the same washers on the 80 series a couple of times and they've always cracked when I've tried to put them back on. So I wasn't going to risk it on the lux since the mrs needed to drive it this week.
