Struts, just more things to go wrong.
I like that you have to lift the bonnet on the Hiluxes.
Hmmm..... $50.00.
Well, a can of CRC MAF cleaner and a can of CRC carby cleaner.
This is to clean the MAF sensor, and the MAP filter. Not really a mod, but more like servicing.

Went camping recently and got sidetracked when leaving and drove off with the tailgate down, could have ended very badly if the trailer hit it going through a gutter or something.

So when I get round to fitting the reverse camera and tailgate central locking I will be running a wire to connect a mercury switch in the tailgate to the rear door switch wiring to warn me if I ever do it again.

Don't worry about it, Marty.
I nearly burnt out a clutch on Fraser Island, just a few days ago.
I thought I would top up my tyre pressures at the Cathedrals on Fraser Island. Their gauge was 10psi out, so instead of running 18psi, I was running 28psi.
Yes, I didn't check this, and down I went in the sand. Such a simple thing, that can cause all sorts of dramas.
Tyre pressures.
Bloody flywheel got red hot. I worked it out after about an hour, and I should know better.
Did I feel stupid? Yes.
Lucky to get off the Island.
Catch you later, John.

Place the clips on the seat belt where it goes into the B pillar between the doors. It stops the seat belt retracting allowing it to remain loose across your body, nice and comfy I guess. It also renders the seat belt pre tensioning system obsolete and anti submarineing system obsolete in the event of an accident. I guess it's up to you if you do it or not.

They don't work with a dual battery, at least not with my setup. Tried, failed.

Sealing up the tailgate. Went to my mates Auto retrim shop and fitted seals to the tailgate.
Tested it yesterday on gravel roads and works a treat.

This second one isn't a mod to the hilux itself "persay" but $35 for the HEMA maps app for the Samsung Tablet (same price for i-thongo's too).

Some bloke on the N70 Facebook page had a photo of his engine bay. He had dual batts ad struts, he said he bought "Sustec" branded ones, so for $55, I might get the same and give them a go.

Maybe people missed my link earlier I have both the gas struts and a second battery mines an ARB tray.
Although mine was around the $90 mark

GazaShaggy wrote:Here's the link to the ones I bought http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/130932804132?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Some pics to show it does clear my battery, it just touches on the side but when I loosen the clamp I can push it over a few mm and the top clamp bolt just clears it on close which could be trimmed as well if needed.

Hey Team,
I've installed two under tray tool boxes on my Lux.
They are just some cheapo tin boxes $22 each, with the hasp and staple removed and some bungy clips installed on each side. I had to pack them down with some 2 x 1 ally box to get the lid to clear the tray. ;)
