Howdy All,

Does anyone know if at all whether this is a CHIP for the V6 Hilux ? ive been looking but i cant seem to find one. Any help appreciated

Chip torque do one but gives very minimal gains over standard unless extensive other mods done , ie full exhaust swap out, super charger and the such
last time i enquired it was $1500 for a gain of only up to 10 kw's
not worth it at all
also you can look into a ECU , Haltech in Vic do one but i have no feedback on them at all

if your doin blower which i think you are it will be very advantageous to do ecu ie Haltech to get most outa blower

HI Drew,

The S/c is in my plans for this year, im just not sure if im going the raptor route or if im going to get a TRD one from the USA,.............

Im not after insane race speed, just some boost when needed. I find the V6 Slow on take off in some ways, but maybe im just used too it now.

Not much around in the way of chips for the V6, unless you go for a SC and use the reflash ECU that will come with the SC kit.

ChipTorque make good products, but Drew makes a valid point. A lot of money for only around 10kw.
I think dafari or D-Tronic also have a chip... out of South Africa I think? I remember seeing something on it ages ago.

Not much info, but he used the Haultech for good results.


The Raptor kit has gone back to the drawing board for a re-design. Raptor weren't happy with a few things and should have this new kit available towards the end of February.

If you can wait it will be a fantastic kit. The last one was great, so this new tweaked version should be even better.
I will be installing one on my new V6 Hilux when I get it towards the end of March... I'm currently looking into a direct liquid injection LPG system as well. Get rid of the petrol injectors and tank, and just run 100% LPG.

I have been inquiring with a few tuners/auto electrical genius' to develop a reasonably priced chip for the V6. So far with no luck... I'm still following it up but the development costs look to big to persue it.


Anyways I'll be in touch with more info on the Raptor Kit when available.
As for the TRD kit, could be worthwhile as the $AUD is strong against the $USD. If you really want more power in a hurry this might be your best option, as there is no gaurantee when the Raptor kit will be available.

Hey mate, haul techs is a very good product it has been used in the turbo petrol performance industry for years. It allows for much finer tuning, a mate just installed one on his petrol patrol along with a mild exhaust wasnt too exy and ahcived more than 20hp at the wheels and better fuel economy.

I missed you in Brook Street, on friday arvo about 3pm, i called out but you didnt see me, Yeah i like the TRD one, but its a matter of getting a qualified person to fit the kit, i do like the factory kit but i will keep on researching the whole shebang for a while but drop me a line when you know the Raptors ready......... good too see you ordered a V6 mate
