Yeah and don't pay out... Tell me about it

10 years ago my house was smashed in a storm, roof lifted off and the insurance company wouldn't pay unless I replaced the roof at my expense... $1000 excess and the measly bastards painted the ceiling for $500. Roof cost $10k
I have paid house insurance for over 50 years without any claims so I guess they made a big profit on my premium.
Not so bad if you can prove it wasn't your fault and they can bill the other party's insurance!

So who do they bill if a storm did the damage?
What they do count on is that if they don't pay up you will go to another company for insurance only to find out that they are all connected to each other and the underwriter. It's like a daisy chain, as you have claimed you are more of a liability and the premium goes up again!
