Insurance Hike

Postby KUN26RLux on Fri, 08 Sep 2023 6:27 +0000

I have owned my KUN26R since new in 2014. No insurance claims ever. Premium went from $860.00 last year to $1480.00 this year!
After checking other companies, it appears my premium is cheap.
Agreed value 35k, windscreen option ticked, $1000 excess.

Insurance companies have a!ways gouged their customers, it's how they operate.... They know we have very little alternative.

Yeah and don't pay out... Tell me about it
10 years ago my house was smashed in a storm, roof lifted off and the insurance company wouldn't pay unless I replaced the roof at my expense... $1000 excess and the measly bastards painted the ceiling for $500. Roof cost $10k :(
I have paid house insurance for over 50 years without any claims so I guess they made a big profit on my premium.

Not so bad if you can prove it wasn't your fault and they can bill the other party's insurance! So who do they bill if a storm did the damage?

What they do count on is that if they don't pay up you will go to another company for insurance only to find out that they are all connected to each other and the underwriter. It's like a daisy chain, as you have claimed you are more of a liability and the premium goes up again! :!:

Don't forget COVID, Allianz claimed COVID on our claim when Philippines Airlines clearly stated that flights were cancelled due to aircraft breakdowns.. cost us increased flight costs with consular loans just to get home. Phil' Airlines of course refused any suggestions of refunds for the flights they chose to cancel.
2 more mobs I'll do my utmost to avoid using in future.

Update. Now insured with GIO. Agreed value 34k. Windscreen box ticked. No hire car. $2695 excess…..yes you read correctly, $2695 excess. Premium $686.00.
As I have never made a claim and paid myself for such misadventures as dented tailgate 5 years ago, I think this will suit me but perhaps not suit everyone.
