townsville mechanics

I am currently on the big road trip up north from melbourne.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a quality and reasonably priced mechanic in the townsville. I need a 150000 km service (inc timing belt and air filter) + water pump.
After getting a few quotes, the price varies dramatically! Between 740 & $1400!!
Any help greatly appreciated.
