I've chewed through 160l before see a servo servial times and I live in a major town,
Where you make up masses of time is in no detours,
Leave at night for a trip or drive through the night and you won't no what servos will be open so when low you'll be driving into a town and losing a heap of time and money as outside of major town you pay more
It don't take much if your out bush either, for me L4 at 3-3200rpm 40-45kph is a good cruise speed and I drop 16-20l an hour
When I was on Fraser islands over Christmas for 5days I use close to 220l at 60c a litre dearer then mainland
It soon adds up and works out a heap cheaper ($130 alone on that trip) to carry a few more liters
I carry 120liters on my ln106 60liter factory and 60liter gravity feed (home made stainless steel tank)
And I have just brought a passenger side 90 liters long range so I'll have 210 liters, witch is what I'm after, a lot of mates have 180-200l and it's the perfect number to allow fill ups at good servos
If you were asking for 300+ liters I would say that's insane but around 200liters I think is a good number to carry,
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................
