I have a 2005 d4d 2.5 cc engine Hilux Uk model, I have managed to improved the performance and economy by using a fuel additive but in low gear ratio i.e. 1 or 2 it struggles to go up hills. On a run it is fine and it races up. Any suggestions please.

Trade the fuel additive for a full exhaust system and a diesel power chip including dyno tune.
May sound expensive upfront, but will work out cheaper once you add up all those additive purchases over the years.

Exhaust system will lower your EGT aswell as improve economy on fuel, the chip will see you gain some ponys for those low range climbs and again may contribute to fuel savings - bundled together with a dyno tune and you're good as gold.
