I have a LongRanger tank on my TRD. Had it on there for about 5 months. When my fuel light comes on I still have about 25 litres left.

My tank has been making a imploding noise. Was pretty dramatic when the mechanic and I were lying under the bonnet the other day. I got onto LongRanger and they have told me it is a known fault although not very common and are going to replace the tank free of charge. Something to do with a bit of flex in one of the panels.

Don't know if this is the same sound you are getting from your tank. Mine is pretty loud, you can hear it when you are driving. Sounds like you have hit a cat or something.

Aside from that, really happy with the tank, took us all around Central Australia. ARB did fill mine up with 98RON, only problem was, they charged me twice for it. OUCH!

Jamiesonb the sound is exsactly as you describe it I thought I had hit something! It's happened about 5 times in the last 2 weeks I will get onto arb about this today! Since putting 91ron in the car it's been running pretty rough! Hopefully a few more tank loads will sort it out

Throw some Octane boost into it and should sort it out. The rough running that is. ;)

Hi

Anyone out there running a Brown Davis long range fuel tank?
Any pros and cons, do you get to use all fuel, does the fuel gauge work accurately?

Thanks
Dave

I got a Long Ranger 140 ltr fitted again with the new Hilux. The fuel gauge is accurate this time from full to empty whereas the last 1 didn't move till the fuel was down to the OEM level. Forgot to try the trip computer and see if distance to empty is accurate. Has anyone else had this win? ARB Brighton did the work.
