Any experience with Drivetech Coils &/or Kingsprings ?

Postby racoonshooter on Thu, 25 Jun 2015 3:07 +0000

Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone had a any experience with Drivetech shockers and/or king springs ? About to purchase front coil over shocks to lift 2 inches. GOt a toyota bullbar on the truck. Got a few prices including assembled tough dogs for $750, Assembled Opposite Lock for 800 or king springs over Drivetech coils for 450 ! (see link here)

Apparently Drivetech are quite an established brand but be good to here if anyone had any experience with them ?

Cheers

Chris

I'd check exactly which coils they are first. Just says ktfr101, doesn't say whether they are the ktfr101t or 101hd or 101hhd or what height they are either. If I was going to do suspension in my rig I'd want to know exactly what they were. Just my 2 cents worth :-)

Also I'd stick with Bilstein or Ultimate struts so you can fine tune the ride height.

Goodluck mate.

Do plenty of reading that's my tip. I have the tough dog foam cell front struts and King KTFR101HD. All the reading I did suggested the HD is for bulbar winch dual battery etc so lots of weight up front but I only have an alloy bulbar. My reading was suggesting it would be very rough and stiff with less than the recomened weight up front. I like the ride though it is firm without being too rough and handles like its on rails, heaps less body roll now. Each to their own but do plenty of research first.

Thanks for the response guys
Yeh I spoke with the guys at Veo, they recommended Heavy Duty to accommodate the toyota bar. Also its a 50mm (2inch) lift, which they said will level it out nicely. All Im really trying to do is level the vehicle out as I dont carry much in the back, and want to stop the rubbering from larger tyres. If you go the blitzens or the ultimates can you actually increase or decrease the height slightly? I thought the adjustable shocks just allowed you to adjust stiffness of the shock ??

SOunds like the king springs are pretty good, but any reports on the drivetech shocks?

Thanks again guys
