What load rated leaf springs would I need?

What load rated leaf springs would I need?

Postby pipert on Mon, 29 Dec 2014 2:02 +0000

I have a LN167 Dual Cab and it has a ex-mine steel tray on the back. I'm not sure what the current leaf springs are setup for, but there's about 6 leafs in the pack. Would a constant 300kg load rated leaf springs be suitable or is 0-300kg sufficient?

I recently bought a 2" tough dog suspension lift kit and i just went with the standard 0-300kg load rating. Would i be able to upgrade to the constant 300kg rear springs option later on down the track if i need it? Thanks

Depends what you are planning on putting in there, I had EFS constant load 300kg's in my dual cab with tub and no weight and it got a bit proud and bumpy. but a 100kg or so really smoothed it out nicely. If I had a steel tray I would go the 300's but that's my personal choice

Thanks for the suggestion Steve. I do have a toolbox with content in that so I guess I'd be pushing the 200-250kg mark in terms of weight all the time. If i find the suspension too soft, can I add extra leafs to stiffen it up?

Sure can, but for that load all the time I would go the 300 constant loads. I had about 700Kg of bricks from a wall I knocked down in my tub and they weren't bothered, hardly sagged at all
