Squeeky leaf springs in the rear

Squeeky leaf springs in the rear

Postby pipert on Sat, 17 May 2014 6:44 +0000

I have a dual cab LN167R hilux which has leaf springs in the rear. There is a slight squeek noise when I'm turning corners or I'm offroad. Is it recommended to grease up the joints in the leaf springs?

Thanks mate, I don't think mine are greasable shackle pins unfortunately.

If you look from downwards to the leaves, do they have a hole, and if so, do they have a kind of rubber thing between. If so thy cleaning the leaves and using a grease gun in the holes. Best if they dont have to carry any weight.

If there issnĀ“t such a rubber thing, dont worry. Clean the leaves and put some motocross chain lube between.
Best if the wheel is hanging, not touching the ground.

The squeek should be gone after this.

Cheers,
