ok so this is where the ute is up to, i think is coming along pretty good so far, as i only paid $800 for it had no carpet, seats, only thing i cab was the dash, paint n body wasnt very good.

lift kit is in, moved rear shackle mounting points, fitted 33x12.5x15, goodyear MT/R, 15x10 rims, high steer box fitted just need new high steer bent pitman arm and steering rods to finish it off, lengthened steering shaft, made the bull bar, cant think of what else i have modified off the top of my head, still got a little list of things to do but getting close now

Click the little chain icon on that page with the photo (next to the facebook and twitter icons), click the IMG Codes box at the bottom.

Then come to here and paste (ctrl+v) into the message box.

Hi guys,

Didn't want to start a new thread so figured I would continue this one.

I bought my Hilux with a lift kit already installed - as to brand I have no idea but it was mentioned that it was 2".

The centre bearing keeps going out - is genuine OEM the best option here? I've read some people pump Sikaflex 221 into their rubber and this makes them last longer, whilst another post elsewhere and a post here mention a single piece tailshaft.

The other post I found mentioned a single piece tailshaft from a 1KZ-TE engine Hilux, KZN165 - can't really find anything on that model, would the Prado of the same era have similar running gear? Is this the best solution? Will this cause problems elsewhere in the driveline, like the front tail-shaft?

Kind regards,

Paul

Take your second section into a tails haft reconditioned with the measurement between the back of box flange and diff
They will fit a longer tube into it (mine cost me $350) using my old uni's (should be around 1420 long depending on model and body style)

When you do this you have 4 choises once a 1 price is fitted because you have a 1 piece the flange angles no longer line up, you can either cut off and rotate the locating brackets, fit caster wedges, replace the uni and box end to a cv(same as on front SAF hilux at box) or just except you'll get a bit of vibration,

I fitted 5* caster wedges in mine as it was 6* out, I get no vibaration and so far so good my uni's have passed the 7000km mark witch is a new record for me (use to get 5k from centre and about 7 from uni's)
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................
