look like most of the other types of airbags , polyair ,firestone, airbagman etc

Yes but these are not adjustable, they are set with spacers apparently and only act when under load or with big hits. Sort of a cross between an airbag and a bump stop. They make them for the front of the Tacoma/Hilux as well.

I would have thought you have more control over a traditional airbag to adjust ride height or to deflate when not needed
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

im interested in getting airbags also.. apparently they crack or tear when 4wd'n , they said that the wheel travel i got will break the airbag or something on the down travel.. Anyone have them?

A good quality air bag which is the right length for your suspension will not tear or break when off road. Most manufacturers either have longer bags or adjustable mounts/spacers to accommodate different size lift kits.
