LN106 Lift Questions

Postby jarrad2314 on Wed, 06 Jul 2011 6:58 +0000

Hey all,

I'm looking at getting a 2" suspension lift on my 'lux and thinking of getting 2" extended shackles as well. My questions are does a 2" lift with the extended shackles count as a 4" lift? and if i carry a dirtbike on the tray should i get soft rate springs in the back or will they sag too much?

Cheers, Jarrad

Generally speaking extended shackles only provide an inch of lift (half of the extra length they provide) and I believe they illegal in most states if not all. Probably better off getting all of your lift out the leafs and shocks to suit. As for what rating maybe just explain to who ever you get your suspension off what your carrying, they should be able to help you sort it out.

Well i'm in NSW so i don't think they are legal but I would most likely try to get away with them :P i'm just looking at a softer spring due to the severe lack of weight in the rear end

Well i'm looking at the Stage 2 Lift Kit from 4WD1.com cause ive heard that the ironman shocks and springs aren't any good, so i suppose i can fork out the extra cash for it.
