Hi guys,
Just brought a 2018 sr5 dual cab and would love to go to town on it and get a lift and 33 tires under it, however I think just getting a set of steel rims with bf Goodrich ko2’s is gonna be a lot cheaper and better place to start for a first timer. My question is what rim offset do I need to keep it same as factory as I was thinking of getting some265/65R17 or 265/70R17 so I don’t have to worry about any steering or suspension adjustments. Thinking of 17 inch rims cause tires seem a lot cheaper and more available. Any opinions on this are welcome. Hopefully spending the tax return in the right area.

Cheers guys Mick

Can’t remember the genuine offset.
But yes you are correct 17” makes the tires cheaper then the 18” Rims. Also stock rims are fairly skinny so you can widen them up. Any reputable tire shop will have standard specs etc on hand.
Be mindful you can go back to 16” but put all emphasis on the tire shop because certain rims won’t fit so you don’t wanna buy online and find they foul. Don’t grind your brake calipers (yes I have seen this done.)

Plenty of info in here.

Some one on a computer share a heap of the links I only use tapatalk.
