Difference in offset between solid front axle and IFS

G'day
I have searched but havent had any joy finding answers to my questions .
When Toyota changed the Hilux from Solid front axle to IFS did they change the size / backspace / offset of the wheels .
I'm in the process of trying to restore a 1996 2.8 dual cab Hilux ( last of the solid front axles ) . It had ROH alloy mags on it when I purchased it .
I would like to put some narrower steel rims painted grey on it to recreate a more original look , but still be able to run tubeless tyres instead of the original split rims with their tubes and balancing troubles (I'm showing my age , but i've owned to many utes with split rims to ever want to go back to them )
Does anyone know what sized steel rim I should be ordering to fit a 1996 2.8 solid front axle and running 29 inch skinny tyres ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Ken
PS - I've tried a few more modern Hilux rims of mine to see if they would work , but are all wrong and rub and dont fit .
