Hi I have just purchased a 2015 sr dual cab. I want to fit a set of Tuff AT wheels with 265/70r17 tyres to It. Just wondering if they will fit okay on a standard height sr with no lift kit or will tyres scrub? I do a fare bit of driving in soft sand which requires me having to let Tyre pressures down etc.

I've just picked up my 2014 SR from Bob Jane an hour ago with 265/70R17 BFG A/Ts on it. No scrubbing at all so far, but I've only been highway driving and residential parking.
I'll update again if I notice anything.
I can post photos too if you'd like, but not til a bit later.

So after about a week, everything is running fine. Very small amount of mudguard scrubbing on the front left, and oddly, only while in reverse.
Haven't yet tried lower pressures though.
What did you decide on after all?

Sounds good thanx for that. I'd say I'll end up running that size Tyre then and I will lift it up eventually when I have more money to spend.

Same thing happens with mine but only reversing down a slope onto a flat surface with full lock. I just pinned the mudflap to the side step and it seems to stop scrubbing.

Just about to by the same size BFGs for my standard 2015 SR just wondering what size rims you put them on, the offset and wether you needed to put flares on.

Hi cam,

I have 265/70/17 mickey Thomson P3s on my 14 Sr. I had no lift when they went in, no scrubbing.

That was with an arb bullbar and Toyota trd mags, p30 offset.

Someone may correct me but I think a lot of the scrubbing issues are forward, bullbar will of fixed that.

Just put an Opposite Lock bullbar on so that all sounds good to me.

hey i have a 2014 model hilux and have just put 265\70\r17 mickey thompson baja atz p3.... they rubb on full lock and if i hit a ditch or it bounces too hard... does anyone know what to do in this situation. it only happens on front.
im a new hilux owner and just starting look at changing things to suit dirt\gravel uneven roads. i travel east of goulbourn alot and the standard tyres it came with brand new only lasted 41000kms. .im a noob at all this so would appreciate som efeed back on whats best. nad what to do about my tyres rubbing?
