Hello.
Has anyone fitted 215/85/16 tyres on standard SR rims?
What brand do you have and how are you happy with them.?

I currently have 225/75/16 tyres on my Hilux and was wanting something a bigger that would still fit on SR standard rim.

Have a read of this hannee viewtopic.php?f=27&p=231819

By the way 215/85/16 is 1" bigger in diameter, but narrower than your 225/75/16
Cheers Rod

Go with 245/75/16
They fill out the guards and handle great

Hahaha I struggle taking off in the wet with 265 tyres, can't imagine 215 tyres lol!
I used to have 245/75/16. Don't think it stuck out, if it did, the amount was very minimal.

If we are talking 6" rims, 245s will be illegal. (Also will not handle well :) )

I run 215/85/16's on my 2.5 Hilux and like them fine. Depends on your driving habits, but you can expect to get a little better fuel efficiency on more narrow tires. They fit the wheel wells fine and look good. I run Hankook tires.

Hello MikeO

What do you mean by "depends on your driving habits" ?

I too am looking at buying the Hankook Dynapro AT tyres

By this I mean that most of your driving is on pavement and not on dirt and gravel. On gravel you will get more slippage with narrow tires. Much of my driving is on gravel roads and I may get wider tires when I wear these out. On steeper hills I often have to go into 4 wheel drive or the rear wheels spin out.
