Just wondering what people have paid for their Cooper ST Maxx tyres? I'm looking at getting 265/75/16 ones and in Perth, they're over $400 each per tyre from memory.

Brought off them a few times
All you pay for at tyre shop is tyre disposal and rotation/balancer fee
So 15-20 on top

Was quoted $360 each in brisbane a few months ago, assuming that was balanced and fitted too.

Called up a local place here in WA and they're $400 each including fitting and balancing. Don't think I'll be able to get them any cheaper, but it is WA afterall

I do recommend this tyre, not noisy, no vibrations with regular balancing and rotation, great in the wet with correct tyre pressure and a little weight in the tray. I have done over 70,000km in these tyres and am confident I will make it to 80,000km. Will buy again.

Maybe try mickey's, not perfect but a much better compound than hard as shit coopers. And yes I know they probably come out if the same plant.

I've never had any issues with the Cooper ST Maxx, i'm running the 245/75/16's and they handle great onroad and offroad.

swhilux, maybe you've had a bad experience with the Cooper STT's which are the full mud terrain ones. I've heard that those are a bit iffy. My mate use to run them and chunks of the rubber were tearing apart.

id had liked to try coopers next but 4 of my mates did a big 6 week trip from perth up north, they all came back cursing them lugs chipping excessive wear and noisy, they were st's one guy had stt... id stick to mikes or bfg's

Pipert, your right mate sorry. They were the STT that I had. Yes I found them to be shocking in everything except mud. Not practical for much else.
I also had the ST's about 6 years ago for about 8 months before I sold the car. Wasn't a huge fan of those either but there road manners and practicality were ok. I prefer good old BFG AT's. Not the best tire either but great road manners and fair tread life. Shit on the beach though unless dropped to 15psi.
Have you looked at The Mickey 4rib AT's? I have a few friends that swear by them now and will not go back to Cooper ST's or STmax. I will be going those after the current set of BFG AT's are rooted.

I second the crap in the wet.. I rang coopers and they tried all the excuses.. Ute too light .. Nah 2400kg.. To higher pressures. Nah I'm down to 28 psi chasing grip.. Too narrow a tyre .. Well it came out with 205's and I've upped to 225's .. Still not wide but better than stock. Stt's grip way better and wear better : my stmaxx need 5000km rotation or they get way steppy . Emailed mickeys Thompson and they reckon they know and there version grips way better in the wet. I'm throwing mine out or on eBay at half life they've been noisy and crap since 10 thousand . Way disappointing seeing as I've done over 150k on other coopers and loved them

I've had no issues running my Cooper ST Maxx and I'm now running 285/75/16's. They've been wearing evenly and I generally rotate, wheel align and balance them every 10,000KM.

that's alright, got quoted 399 each at tyrepower joondalup. Guy said regular rotation and balance was needed to keep them from spooning out which causes the noise or something.... tyres are on the list, but not at the top of it

Don't buy them in Darwin, quoted $470 a tyre, got them down to $450 each but an expensive exercise when buying six of them

I was quoted $348/tyre at Bonnyrigg (NSW) on 6/09/15, wasn't ready to purchase on the date but got it written on their business card for when I go back next week or so for them.

EDIT: purchased these on 19/09/15 for $348 a tyre - 265/75R16.

I've recently replaced the ST Maxx on mine, only lasted 60k, but I'm still very happy with them. lots of hard km's (20000km in my 3 month top end tour!). no issues at any point, and grip for days

I was going to get them again, but Nittos were $50 cheaper per tyre

I paid about $370 each (285 75 16) for mine from Tyrepower Wangara. Speak to these guys if you want good deals on tyres.

suggest you all just do a google for best price... most dealers will price-match your best price online, if they don't... look around. Sometimes it IS worth driving across town for a deal... just bought some tyres for my caravan... Bob jane; 150 each, tempe tyres 119, kmart auto 115 each... bingo guess who got the sale
