All Terrain Issue

I have All -Terrain tyres on my Hilux xtra cab, ally tray with no heavy load carrying. Done less than 30k.

I have very worn tread towards the centre of the rear tyres only, the sides have plenty of tread left.

The obvious explanation for this would be over-inflation. I have them at 30psi only.

I took them to the tyre supplier and the fella there wasn't too happy with them as well, he said he's had a few issues with this newer style tread.

Couple of questions. Can anyone explain the uneven wear? Also he recommended Continental tyres for a replacement, does anyone have good or bad reports on them? I'm thinking of going with BF Goodriches.

Sorry, that last paragraph is a bit wrong. I incorrectly said I'm thinking of going with BF Goodridges. That's wrong I can't remember the brand.

Mate unfortunately that's the joy of owning a load carrying vehicle - it's hard to get the tyre press right.

When your unloaded you have to run less and when your loaded you have to run more.

What brand, size and load index and wheel size are you running and I might be able to work out correct tyre press.

You also have to rotate every 10,000klm

Best to rotate regularly front to back to keep even wear, I rotate mine every 5,000 k

x2

I run 36 front and 26 rear unloaded and still tend to wear the centre a bit on the rear but got 120,000
